Statistical code list
In the case where there is superiority and subordination between the items of the code list, a hierarchical code list shall be developed. Such code lists are generally derived from classifications and, unlike classifications, may have the code list item code stripped of separators or may be otherwise adapted to the needs of processing statistical outputs.
Harmonisation with basic dials
Code lists marked with the flag "Harmonised with public administration standards" are harmonised with the basic code lists issued through the central meta-information system of public administration MetaIS. The list of basic code lists is maintained by the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatisation of the Slovak Republic. The Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic is the custodian of a number of basic code lists in MetaIS and manages them and makes them available through the Office's information system on this website.
Use of code lists in the Register of Organisations
Code lists marked with the flag "Used in the register of organisations" are used to classify the values of the attributes of the statistical register of organisations.
Search code lists
You can search for a code list by content on the Code lists by content tab, e.g. by keyword and other selection criteria, or by change date on the Code lists by change date tab. A change is defined as an update of a code list, the expiry of a code list or the creation of a new code list in the selected period.
Code list notifications
You can also receive information about changes to the code lists via notifications sent to your email address. On the page Notifications to statistical code lists, information on the conditions for subscribing to the service is available.
Structure of a code list item
The structure of the code list item (PDF 384 kB) is harmonised with the structure of the classification item.
Eurostat's code lists
The statistical code lists for the European Statistical System are maintained by Eurostat. The code lists are available for download in three languages - English, French and German.
