Programme of State Statistical Surveys

Introduction

The Programme of State Statistical Surveys (PSSS) is a generally binding legal regulation established by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with other bodies that carry out state statistics. It contains the state statistical surveys organised and carried out by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic and other bodies that carry out State statistics. The Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic issues the Programme of State Statistical Surveys by decree in the Collection of Laws of the Slovak Republic for a three-year period. In years when a new programme is not drawn up, amendments may be issued by decree.

Coverage of reporting units

Warning State statistical surveys included in the Programme of State Statistical Surveys are binding for a defined range of reporting units in terms of the obligation to provide data.

A statistical survey may be carried out using the exhaustive survey method, in which case all reporting units are contacted in accordance with the definition set out in the Programme of National Statistical Surveys.

For sample surveys (PDF 529 kB) sets of reporting units (sample sets) are constructed in accordance with the stratification criteria of the individual surveys.

Warning The reporting obligation for a reporting unit arises when it is invited by the competent authority to complete the relevant statistical forms.

Protection of confidential statistical data

The authority that carries out the national statistical survey and ensures its processing has a legal obligation to protect the respondent's confidential and personal data from misuse. The method of management and implementation of activities related to ensuring the protection of confidential statistical data in the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic is regulated by an internal legal regulation. The principles of application of the protection of confidential data are published on the page Protection of confidential statistical data. The Access to confidential statistical data page specifies the conditions for granting access to confidential statistical data for scientific purposes.
