    Introduction

    The legal basis for the preparation of the European Statistical Programme is Regulation (EC) No 223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2009 on European Statistics, which provides a framework for the development, production and dissemination of European statistics.

    European Statistical Programme

    The European Statistical Programme 2021 to 2027 is established by Regulation (EC) No 2021/690 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 April 2021 establishing a Programme on the Internal Market, the Competitiveness of Enterprises, including Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Plants, Animals, Food and Feed and European Statistics (Single Market Programme) and repealing Regulations (EU) No 99/2013, (EU) No 1287/2013, (EU) No 254/2014 and (EU) No 652/2014.
    Warning The eligible actions to be carried out in pursuit of the specific objective 'to develop, produce, disseminate and communicate high-quality European statistics in a timely, impartial and cost-effective manner' are listed in Annex II of Regulation (EC) No 2021/690 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

    National authorities responsible for the development, production and dissemination of European statistics

    The European Statistical System and the European System of Central Banks are involved in the production, compilation and dissemination of European statistics. The authorities listed in the List of National Statistical Institutes and other national authorities responsible for the development, production and dissemination of European statistics, maintained and published by Eurostat, are part of the European Statistical System.

    For the Slovak Republic, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic and other national statistical authorities are included in the List.
